Wayne Edgar is a unique artist. He continues to evolve and grow. Originally an art major in college, he switched to Engineering at the University of Oklahoma specializing in aerodynamic design. Completing his engineering Internship in Dallas, he became a Professional Engineer designing freeways, lakes, coffee shops, and even golf courses. Noting a gap in his learning, he later attained his MBA in Economics from the University of Texas at Arlington. A few years later, he felt “called” to make a larger contribution to society and he gained his Law Degree from Oklahoma City University. He was the very first attorney in the the Native American Resource Center at OCU Law, and later went on to serve as Senior Counsel at the University of Oklahoma and two Fortune 500 companies. He is now has his own legal practice with offices in Norman, Oklahoma, and Lewisville, Texas. Throughout the process he continued his art work. He navigates the intricate realms of law while also using his creativity every day in his profession. Born and raised in Ada and later Dougherty Oklahoma, his work, education, sport, and art has taken him around the world.
Primarily working with oil paints, he crafts art that expresses the beauty in nature. His canvases become a message to the viewer, reflecting his Native American heritage and the landscapes that have shaped his identity.
Drawing inspiration from his roots, Wayne's art embodies a profound connection to nature. Through his brushstrokes, he weaves stories of resilience, spirituality, and the enduring beauty of his culture.
While oil painting is his preferred medium, Wayne is not one to shy away from experimentation. He fearlessly explores various techniques and mediums, infusing his creations with depth and dimension.
